Sweat & Sculpt — A Full Bridal Body Workout

Sweat & Sculpt — A Full Bridal Body Workout

I made this video for my elite clients this week and wanted to share it with you too! It’s so important to have variety in your workouts and continually mix up what you do, the pace and the level of exertion. This low impact* workout is awesome for sculpting your dream bridal body and is the perfect addition to your current routine!

Why You Want This

Blast unwanted fat and sculpt arms and legs with this sequence of exercises that combines cardio and free weight movements. This workout hits all the major muscles to improve your overall physique, but it also doesn’t leave you dead and sweaty on the gym floor.

Why You Need This

Lunge To Balance: You know that bit at the bottom of your bum that has a hard time resisting gravity? To tone that area we need to activate the muscles of the glutes, inner thighs and hamstrings (gluteus maximus, adductor magnus and semi-tendinosus if you want to get technical), which is exactly what this move does.

Plyometric Squat Jumps: This move improves cardio fitness, burns fat and tones your inner thighs. Try to engage your pelvic floor muscles each time you land.

Standing Oblique Twist: Rotating through the upper body, whilst keeping the low body grounded, simultaneously strengthens the butt and thighs, and engages the oblique abdominals. In other words, this move narrows your waist.

See Saw Abdominals: This ab series engages the entire length of the abdominal wall, including those deep belly muscles (Transversus Abdominis) and the sexy six-pack on top (Rectus Abdominis). By alternating upper and lower body crunches we pull in the belly from every direction.

Squat Kick Punch: Your preferred venue isn’t available on a Saturday night? Bam! The vegetarian option is only Eggplant Parmigiana? Thwack! Kick out your frustration and tone your booty and shoulders at the same time with the Squat Kick Punch. Just remember to keep your shoulder blades squeezing together when you punch those weights.

Static Lunge Lateral Raise: All shoulders all the time. This is the perfect cap-sleeve dress move as it isolates the deltoids on the side of the upper arm. Dreamy arms will be yours because you get two sets of this baby back to back!

Fast Butt Kicks: Engage the butt, the hamstrings, the abdominals and get your heart rate up. Can you run faster than me?

Forearm Plank Knee Taps: “Tapping” back into that core and leaving your six-pack out of it for flat abs without the weird body-builder ripple. The most important thing in this move is to keep your hips lifted and keep pulling your belly button up to your spine. (Oh and you will also strengthen the shoulders and upper back.)

*If you have knee issues modify the squat jumps and butt kicks by eliminating the jumping. You can also do this sequence without weights.

Bridal Bootcamp: The Strapless Dress Workout

Today’s wedding workout has three main benefits: to tone your arms, to improve your cardio, and to make you feel like a total badass. I’ve chosen moves that will primarily target your upper body (hello strapless dress), but there’s also a good bit of love shown to your abs and legs. When I edited this…

Why Brides Need To Rethink Weight Loss

I don’t want to be another health expert who stands here and says: “living at your ideal weight is easy”. Because for many women the ability to create a body and life that they love seems needlessly complicated, and even unattainable. I get it. For many years I struggled with low self-esteem, eating disorders, and…

Bridal Bootcamp: Full Body Bridal Workout

Tie those laces ladies; bridal bootcamp is in session! All you need for this workout is lots of energy, and maybe an exercise mat! Even if you don’t have that energy right now, I want you to do the workout anyway. Remember that exercise actually boosts your energy, improves your mood, and is just a generally…

Healthy Date Ideas On A Wedding Budget

Stuck in another date rut? Wedding planning killing your love life? I get it. While getting takeout from your local spot and watching movies on Netflix is fun, sometimes you need to bust out of that comfort zone. If saving for the wedding has your purse strings pulled tight, then hitting up expensive bars and restaurants might…
